Kyegegwa Rural Electricity Cooperative Society Limited

A sustainable Cooperative providing efficient multi-technology power services to her members and customers in the Central Service Territory (CST).

KRECS is a utility Cooperative Society owned by the community registered under the Cooperatives act 1992 in April 2012 to offer a range of services in distribution, management and administration of electricity to the community. The membership base that it currently has and the increasing membership potential.

Customer Connections in Rural areas of;

Kyegegwa,Mubende, Kyenjojo, Kayunga, Buikwe & mityana.
Once you get your house internally wired using a certified wireman, and you are near an existing LV pole, its simple visit our Offices and we shall help you get connected to electricity supply within the shortest time possible.

Electricity Distribution (1 or more Poles)

for customers who are not near supply poles
Once you get your house internally wired using a certified wireman, and you notice you are a bit far away from existing LV pole about 90 meters, apply for a One Pole Service at any of our Offices and we shall help you get connected to electricity.

Electricity Bills

Currently, Only KVA customers use our Post Paid Billing Plan.
Make all your payments at office and obtain a receipt for each payment. Recharge KRECS power by dialing *272# across all networks.

Kyegegwa Rural Electricity Cooperative Society Limited has partnered with various stakeholders in the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) for Productive use of Electricity, improve livelihoods of households in the Rural Areas of the Districts that KRECS serves.

  • KATIIRWE OFF GRID a soloar plant that will generate over 50 killowatss and eqivallent of a 50kva transformer.
  • ONE POLE SERVICE IMPLEMENTING ONE POLE SERVICE CONNECTION UNDER THE ERT III-ECP GOVERNMENT PROGRAM
  • READY BOARD LAUNCHING THE READY BOARD PROJECT TO BENEFIT OVER 500 HOUSEHOLDS
The Katiirwe Solar Project will generate 50 Kilowatts an equivalent to 50KVA transformer serving over 500 customers in Rural Areas of Ruyonza Sub County in Kyegegwa District.
